1948 Studebaker. So, last night I was on my way out of the door to go to ballet, and I got a text message: “hey, there is a 48 studebaker at 7th and magazine. your camera takes better night pictures than mine does.” I sent Clay over there to take a couple of pictures, because I was already almost late to ballet (and I need to get there a minute or two early to tie pointe shoes on Fridays.)

Theres’s a guy around here with a blue 65 Studebaker-this is his dad’s car. Very cool. Click through for a couple more, it has most excellent white walls.

Fabulous orange 1970s fiat spyder 1800. I’ve seen this car floating around town since after the storm, it used to live down the street from me but I never got to catch it in daylight. It’s so bright. Looks like fun. Saturday it showed up down the block from my house on a stunningly beautiful day.

File under “things I will buy if they show up on craigslist.” Old fiats are at least the kind of money pit that is cheap to obtain.

President Obama came to have a town hall meeting at my school (UNO) on Thursday. I was lucky enough to catch the motorcade at such a short distance I could not get a picture of the whole cadillac. (either of them.) So cool.

So, right around the time Clay proposed there was this blue porsche 911 on craigslist with a targa top. 1982, maybe? He jokingly asked if I wanted it instead of a ring. (No. As much as I love blue sportscars.) But I think this is that car.

1966 Ford F-100. This guy lives around the oak street construction, as far as I know. Great old truck. Clay took this one for me a few months back. It’s a plain straight-sided pickup, I just thought the grille shot was cooler than the fullsize. (Click through the picture to get to more.)

I got it. I will post this picture of a beetle with some debris behind it for a remembrance of sorts.

I wrote about this bowling alley last year, I forget when — I went to it as a kid on the westbank for friends’ birthday parties, and found out that it was open until Katrina. Fairly certain this was a Broussard flood+roof damage casualty.
